I went back and forth with her about how I had replaced the lightbulbs when they blew, why do I need to buy all new ones? She said they weren’t the same dim yellow ones as when we moved in. So I had to replace all of them. The contract said “leave it like it was when we moved in”.
Of the $2,320 worth of security deposits that she had gathered over the 7 years, we got $400 back.
Not everyone has a parent who can back them up. My mom is beyond amazing and I hope that I never take her for granted.
