One of you guys wrote in last year asking if we had a Tumblr. The answer was no, and we had no time to make it a yes. Well, you planted the seed in my head and I finally got around to making it happen. The Devil’s Panties now has a home on Tumblr, Facebook and Twitter.

There was a point in time when our marriage would have attracted the audience of many a burning cross. Hell, if recent polls have any truth to them whatsoever, there are still places in this country where we would be judged. It’s such an alien concept to me, and every time I encounter a bigoted comment I have to snap out of it and realize that I’m not reading The Onion and they probably aren’t trolling… because those firehoses weren’t photoshopped, and people really did have to march and take up arms, and it really was only 12 years ago when “interracial” marriage was legalized in Alabama.
Now the cycle continues, and lo and behold, there’s never a shortage of people out there ready to “Preserve America”… again.

Not the exact video that my mom saw, but this is why she wants to throw a frozen turkey into a deep fryer. We didn’t end up doing it because we didn’t want to ruin my brother in law’s deep fryer. But she thought it was neat.
