The only time to go to Waffle House is 3am when you’re too drunk to read a menu. Or if you’ve been “camping” for three days, not sleeping, and only eating pop tarts. I went to Waffle House once when I was well rested and moderately peckish. It was traumatizing.

In the first episode of Jem and the Holograms, Jem is on a flying stage and she crashes a Misfits concert. If someone had spent the time and money to advertise and set up a show and someone else crashes it, who exactly would be the bad guy? Jem is one of those cartoons that you go back to and realize the animation is still awesome, but the message is a bit wonky. Also, still have the “Misfits in Hawaii” song stuck in my head.
After school I would watch Gargoyles, Batman, and then Prince of Bel Air. I recognized the voice actors from Star Trek. They even got Warf and I about died when I heard Data as Puck. I checked IMDB and holycrap, they got EVERYONE! A couple people from Eureka, the captain from Voyager, bad guy from the Highlander movie (don’t say which one, there was only one movie) even Tim Curry. This was a wonderfully bad ass cartoon. Until they headed out to Avalon and then it got weird. But up until they get on the boat, it was awesome.
Sometimes when I process someones credit card at a convention then it already has their e-mail address in the system because they had used the same processor previously. I tell them “Don’t think about it.” Don’t think about how much of our identity is tied into technology today. Don’t think about how much access it has to us. Just, don’t think about it. I’d rather worry about getting enough vegetables and what kind of vitamins a woman over thirty should be taking. There’s enough to worry about in a day without factoring in the satellites and ninja helicopters.
Now I totally want a super soaker full of Chamomile and a bandoleer of cough drops. You can fight it all you want, but if your snuggle bear gets sick, you’re screwed. Also, you’re gonna get sick too. Poor Obby the first year he was with me during convention season. I was fine, but I kept bringing home con crud. It was clinging to me or something. Lots of travel and long days with not very much sleep or food will do a number to your system. The first year I did conventions I was pretty much sick the whole year. Now I know that I get to pick one thing to skimp on: food or sleep. But I can’t skip both or I get a visit from the plague monkey.
