Under the meme of “free speech” we have entered into an information war zone where the nanograms of knowledge derived from the pursuit of truth are painstakingly aggregated from the solution of the universe with the aqua regia of science, bullshit can be manufactured in a shed by the ton, and to the average person the two are indistinguishable, simply peers to be weighed equally, hefted in the hands and evaluated, the reeking miasma of the bullshit undetected, the nose blinded by the acquisition of such quantity.
If we could greatly augment the teaching of skepticism and STEM in public schools, in 20 years it may be the case that the amount of people searching for groomer dungeons in pizza parlors may be somewhat reduced.
It will be a long 20 years, though from the start of a race whose shot has not yet rung.
Till then, must we suffer fools? Should the megaphone of the various media deliver lies as loudly as the truth? The time is ticking on so many bombs, you might as well call me Hudson, because on misinformation the world has gone Soft.
I have a bag of coins from back when you’d have change in your pocket and throw it in a container on your dresser at the end of each day. We don’t do that anymore.
