Shit goes down during Dragon Con. Floods and hurricanes and everyone seems to have to overcome some huge obstacle to get there. This year we seemed to hop those hurtles with glee. We’ve all leveled up our ‘dealing with shit’ stats.
I’m usually so busy getting everyone else’s shoes on and making sure they all go to the bathroom that I forget to do the same to myself or I think I can just push through without taking care of myself.
It’s always Halloween at HappyGoth’s house. They have a weird horse head Christmas creature in the front yard and giant goat hair and cow bell costumes standing around the house.
I kinda wanted to cosplay Covid and show up at dragon con like “heeeey! I know I wasn’t invited, but I figured I’d drop by. hug? hug? See ya soooooon!!”

You don’t always pay as much attention as you should during feedings.
My kids picked up on the concept of “we don’t own it until we pay at the front” store etiquette pretty quickly. I MOSTLY got them to follow the idea that you get to pick out one treat and if you want something else, you have to trade in that treat. It hasn’t backfired just yet. Diapers are so horrendously expensive. I am a BIG supporter of family planning. My kids are flipping amazing but this shit is no fucking joke.
There are movies and tv shows I’ve watched just because of the cosplayers. I still have no idea what Attack on Titan is about even though I’ve watched it and those kids LOVE to cosplay those leg box gun things.
