I’m reminded of “The Second Variety” by Philip K. Dick
I grew up driving junkers that cost more in repairs than the few hundred that you got them for. I’m really glad it went to a teenager puttering around Portland. I do hope the stick shift training goes well.
Obby always says he isn’t handy and then is suddenly very handy. He says the car would need a new coil gasket and a thorough cleaning of the spark plug hole, but for $600 we just informed the buyer of what needed to be done.
Obby did 24 hours of lemons years ago. At one point their race car was spewing so much smoke that the organizers made the driver pull over, put on tie dye t-shirt, and plant a tree before being let back on the track.
