There comes a time when a baby refuses to lay prone for a diaper change. They begin to roll like a crocodile trying to drown its prey. Sometimes a parent will perfect the art of putting a diaper on a standing toddler. Most of the time this results in leaks and blowouts.
Bodies change. They’re organic that way.
The beaches in northern Oregon are so huge, the ocean feels like half a mile away from the dunes. Sneaker waves are actually quite scary. The beach we go to has trucks driving by. You have to look both ways before walking to the water.
All toddler kisses come with a lipstick ring of snot.
My mom used the fraise “they’re still a part of your skin”. For a while, your kid still feels like a part of your own body. After a point though, they really are rubbing snot on you and it is not alright.

I have done this comic before but it is still true. I enjoyed the small pleasures in the chaos that is baby.
They’re a baby for only a minute even though it feels like an ETERNITY at the time.
